OUR PASTOR

 


Pastor Joseph B. Davis, Sr. was born and educated in Washington, DC.  He was raised by his grandparents, Beulah and the late Isaac Davis.  Pastor Davis and his wife, Co-Pastor Debra Ann, have been married for 38 years. They are proud parents of three children and nine grandchildren.

Pastor Davis accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior in 1980, and was sanctified and filled with the Holy Ghost in 1984.  He was called to the ministry in 1986, licensed to preach in 1990, and ordained an Elder in 1993 in the Greater Maryland First Jurisdiction Church of God in Christ, Inc. by the late Bishop David Washington Spann, Sr. in Baltimore, Maryland.

For 25 years, Pastor Davis has served as the Founder and Senior Pastor of Way of Truth and Life Ministries.

In addition to his pastoral duties, Pastor Davis has served the Church of God in Christ in numerous capacities on the District and Jurisdictional levels. He currently serves as the Director of Intercessory Prayer under the leadership of Bishop Carl A. Pierce, Sr. in the Maryland Central Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction.

Furthermore, Pastor Davis has pursued theological studies at The Charles Harrison Mason Bible College and School of Theology, Baltimore Division.  He has also received extensive training in leadership development from various conferences, including the Pastors and Elders Conferences.

Since October 2014, Pastor Davis and his wife, Co-Pastor Debra Ann have been members of the Pastors Network with Lyles and Deborah Dukes Ministries in Woodbridge, VA.

Pastor Davis’ mission is to teach, train, develop and empower people to live, love, serve and give better. He has served untiringly in an effort to reach the lost, to provide guidance for those saved for Christ, and to live a life that is found pleasing to God.  



OUR FIRST LADY




Evangelist Debra Ann Davis was born in Trenton, New Jersey. She was educated in Washington, D.C., a graduate of Ballou Senior High School. She furthered her education at the Charles Harrison Mason System of Bible Colleges, Baltimore Division. Evangelist Davis accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior at the age of 20.


She is the happy wife of 38 years to her best friend, Elder Joseph B. Davis, Sr., Senior Pastor of Way of Truth and Life Ministries.  She is the dedicated mother of three children and nine grandchildren. 


Keeping God first in her life, Evangelist Davis has the heart of a servant. She has served faithfully and untiringly in her local church in many capacities, including church secretary, Sunday School teacher, praise and worship leader, intercessory prayer leader, and director of women’s ministries.


A licensed evangelist, she continued her acts of service in the Rhode Island Jurisdiction Church of God in Christ: past assistant district missionary, personal assistant to the district missionary, Purity Class lady, jurisdictional praise and worship leader, secretary to the jurisdictional pastors’ wives and to the Maryland District under the leadership of Bishop Harvey Lewis Sr. and Jurisdictional Supervisor Mother Maria Seastrunk. She is also a member of Aglow International (Maryland South) and New Broken Vessels Ministry in Capital Heights, Maryland.

 
Evangelist Davis currently serves as the President of the Elders' and Ministers' Wives Circle in the Maryland Central Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction under the leadership of Bishop Carl A. Pierce and Jurisdictional Supervisor Dr. Diana Chandler Banks.
 

Professionally, she is an executive assistant to the President of the Publications Division at the American Chemical Society (ACS). Evangelist Davis has been with the ACS in Washington, D.C., for 40 years. She has served on the ACS Federal Credit Union Board of Directors, Loan Review Committee and Chair of the New Services Committee. 


Evangelist Davis is honored to serve as Co-Pastor of Way of Truth and Life Ministries and she works closely with her husband in ministry to serve the people of the Lord.


Her favorite Bible scripture is found in Proverbs 3:5-6 "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths."
