OUR PASTOR

 


Pastor Joseph B. Davis, Sr. was born and educated in Washington, DC.  He was raised by his grandparents, the late Isaac Davis and Beulah Mae Davis.  Pastor Davis and his wife, Co-Pastor Debra Ann, have been married for 43 years. They are proud parents of three children and nine grandchildren.

Pastor Davis accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior in 1980 and was sanctified and filled with the Holy Ghost in 1984.  He was called to the ministry in 1986, licensed to preach in 1990, and ordained an Elder in 1993 in the Greater Maryland First Jurisdiction Church of God in Christ, Inc. by the late Bishop David Washington Spann, Sr. in Baltimore, Maryland.

For 29 years, Pastor Davis has served as the Founder and Senior Pastor of Way of Truth and Life Ministries Church of God in Christ.

In addition to his pastoral duties, Pastor Davis has served the Church of God in Christ in numerous capacities on the District and Jurisdictional levels. He currently serves as the Episcopal Aide to Bishop Emeritus Harvey L. Lewis, Sr. in the Rhode Island Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction.

Furthermore, Pastor Davis has pursued theological studies at The Charles Harrison Mason Bible College and School of Theology, Baltimore Division.  He has also received extensive training in leadership development from various conferences, including the Pastors and Elders Conferences. Pastor Davis has an Associate Degree in Ministry, a Bachelor's Degree in Ministry, a Master of Divinity Degree, and a Doctor of Divinity Degree from the Revival Center Bible College and Seminary in Waldorf, Maryland.  

Pastor Davis’ mission is to teach, train, develop, and empower people to live, love, serve, and give better. He has served untiringly to reach the lost, provide guidance for those saved for Christ, and live a life that is found pleasing to God.

OUR FIRST LADY

 
 

Evangelist Debra Ann Davis was born in Trenton, New Jersey. She was educated in Washington, D.C., and a graduate of Frank W. Ballou Senior High School. She furthered her education at the Charles Harrison Mason System of Bible Colleges, Baltimore Division. Evangelist Davis accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior at the age of 20.

 

She is the happy wife of 43 years to her best friend, Elder Joseph B. Davis, Sr., Senior Pastor of Way of Truth and Life Ministries Church of God in Christ.  She is the dedicated mother of three children and nine grandchildren. 

 

Keeping God first in her life, Evangelist Davis has the heart of a servant. She has served faithfully and untiringly in her local church in many capacities, including church secretary, Sunday School teacher, praise and worship leader, intercessory prayer leader, and director of women’s ministries. 

 

A licensed evangelist, she continued her acts of service in the Rhode Island Jurisdiction Church of God in Christ: past assistant district missionary, personal assistant to the district missionary, Purity Class lady, jurisdictional praise and worship leader, secretary to the jurisdictional pastors’ wives and the Maryland District under the leadership of Bishop Harvey Lewis Sr. and the late Jurisdictional Supervisor Mother Maria Seastrunk. On August 17, 2023, she was installed as a District Missionary of the Shaw District.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          Evangelist Davis has also served as the President of the Elders' and Ministers' Wives Circle in the Maryland Central Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction under the leadership of Bishop Carl A. Pierce and Jurisdictional Supervisor Dr. Diana Chandler Banks. She is a member of Aglow International (Maryland South), and New Broken Vessels Ministry.  Evangelist Davis has an Associate Degree in Ministry, a Bachelor's Degree in Ministry, a Master of Divinity Degree, and a Doctor of Divinity Degree from the Revival Center Bible College and Seminary in Waldorf, Maryland.

 

Professionally, she is an executive assistant to the President of the Publications Division at the American Chemical Society (ACS). Evangelist Davis has been with the ACS in Washington, D.C., for 44 years. She has served on the ACS Federal Credit Union Board of Directors, Loan Review Committee, and Chair of the New Services Committee.

 

Evangelist Davis is honored to serve as First Lady of Way of Truth and Life Ministries and she works closely with her husband in ministry to serve the people of the Lord.

 

Her favorite Bible scripture is found in Proverbs 3:5-6 "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths."
